I promised this list wouldn’t be pretentious but I lied. Here are some filmy films for you filmy film buffs.
Upstream Color
From the guy who made Primer. Here’s the Netflix description, “As technically brilliant as it is narratively abstract, Upstream Color represents experimental American cinema at its finest -- and reaffirms Shane Carruth as a talent to watch.” It is very ‘narratively abstract’ but is pretty fun to watch even if its hard to follow.

I’ll never forget when my college roommates walked in when I was watching this. They kept asking what the fuck it was as they slowly sunk into the couch and watched the whole thing. The movie is about a sentient murderous car tire, like an actual car tire. If you can decode this meta mish-mash film about films I’d love to hear your take. Either way its pretty entertaining!

Dekalog
A ten episode Polish miniseries with disconnected stories loosely based around the 10 Commandments. Kubrick said this was the greatest piece of filmmaking in history. Still the stories are easy to follow and gripping but the meaning can be illusive. I still think about one of the episodes every time I see a frozen lake.
